Call to Order and Related Business

Call to Order and Land Acknowledgement

Mayor A. Sohi called the meeting to order at 1:41 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023, and acknowledged that City Auditor Recruitment Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and Métis Homelands. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Roll Call

Mayor A. Sohi conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of the City Auditor Recruitment Committee.

Councillor J. Rice was absent with notice.

K. Stolarz, Deputy City Clerk, S. Parsons and M. de Guzman, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

Election of Vice-Chair

Mayor A. Sohi called for nominations for the position of Vice-Chair, City Auditor Recruitment Committee.

Councillor K. Principe nominated Councillor J. Wright for the position of Vice-Chair, City Auditor Recruitment Committee.

Mayor A. Sohi asked if there were any further nominations. There being no other nominations, Mayor A. Sohi declared the nominations closed.

  That Councillor J. Wright be elected as Vice-Chair, City Auditor Recruitment Committee.

  2. That the actions as outlined in revised Attachment 1 of the June 27, 2023, Office of the City Clerk report OCC01939, be approved.
  3. That the June 27, 2023, Office of the City Clerk report OCC01939 remain private pursuant to sections 19 (confidential evaluations), 24 (advice from officials), 25 (disclosure harmful to economic and other interests of a public body) and 27 (privileged information) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
