Deputy Mayor A. Knack called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and acknowledged that City Council meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and the Métis homeland. The Deputy Mayor also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Deputy Mayor A. Knack conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of City Council.

Mayor A. Sohi and Councillor K. Tang were absent with notice.

E. Robar, Interim City Manager; and A. Giesbrecht, City Clerk, B. Tyson and A. Karbashewski, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

    That Bylaw 20706 be referred back to Administration to remove the phase out of the other residential subclass, prepare the necessary policy adjustments and identify any other unintended consequences and return to a Special City Council meeting to be called by the Mayor.

  • Councillor J. Rice disagreed with the ruling regarding the inadmissibility of the motion. Councillor J. Rice challenged the Chair's ruling.
