Councillor E. Rutherford called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2024, and acknowledged that Community and Public Services Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and the Métis homeland. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Councillor E. Rutherford conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of Community and Public Services Committee.

Councillors T. Cartmell, M. Janz, A. Knack, K. Principe, K. Tang and J. Wright; and A. Karbashewski, G. Goodin and M. Moussa, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

    1. That sponsorship agreements for the four events described in the October 7, 2024, Community Services report CS02602, for a cumulative amount not to exceed a total of $6.45 million over six years be approved, and that each of the agreements be in form and content acceptable to the City Manager if Edmonton is selected as the host city.
    2. That the October 7, 2024, Community Services report CS02602 remain private until selection of candidate and/or host cities for each event are publicly announced, pursuant to sections 16 (disclosure harmful to business interests of a third party), 24 (advice from officials) and 25 (disclosure harmful to economic and other interests of a public body) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
