Salvador called the meeting to order at 9:33 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2025, and acknowledged that Community and Public Services Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and the Métis homeland. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Isga, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.1.2Roll Call Councillor A. Salvador conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of Community and Public Services Committee. Councillor K. Tang was named a Member of the Committee, for a portion of the meeting, to maintain quorum, pursuant to section 17(1) of the Council Committees Bylaw 18156. Mayor A. Sohi is a Committee Member pursuant to section 15(3), Council Committees Bylaw 18156. Councillors E. Rutherford was absent with notice for a portion of the meeting. Councillor S. Hamilton was absent with notice. Councillors A. Knack, K. Principe and K. Tang; A. Karbashewski, R. Yusuf and J. Salvador) Councillor A. Salvador, on behalf of Community and Public Services Committee, recognized Seniors’ Week, which kicks off June 2 and runs until June 8.
