Call to Order and Related Business

Call to Order and Land Acknowledgement

Mayor A. Sohi called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2024, and acknowledged that City Manager Recruitment Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and the Métis homeland. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

*Clerk's note: The August 24, 2024, Special City Manager Recruitment Committee meeting was held over two days: August 24, 2024, and September 6, 2024.

Roll Call

Mayor A. Sohi conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of City Manager Recruitment Committee.

A. Giesbrecht, City Clerk and A. Karbashewski, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

Adoption of Agenda

  That the August 26, 2024, Special City Manager Recruitment Committee meeting agenda be adopted.

  That City Manager Recruitment Committee meet in private pursuant to sections 17 (disclosure harmful to personal privacy) and 24 (advice from officials) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act for the discussion of item 4.1.

  With the unanimous consent of City Manager Recruitment Committee, the motion carried.

  City Manager Recruitment Committee met in private at 9:36 a.m., Monday, August 26, 2024.

  2. That the August 26, 2024 Office of the City Clerk report OCC02670 and attachments remain private pursuant to sections 17 (disclosure harmful to personal privacy) and 24 (advice from officials) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
