Mayor A. Sohi called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025, and acknowledged that City Council meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and the Métis homeland. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Isga, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Mayor A. Sohi conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of City Council.

Councillor S. Hamilton was absent with notice for a portion of the meeting.

    • Administration seeks confirmation in writing from the Government of Alberta (GOA) what projects (Schedule A of Bylaw 21158) must be included within the revised Downtown CRL so that it will be approved; and
    • the Mayor, on behalf of Council, seeks confirmation in writing from Government of Alberta what projects (Schedule A of Bylaw 21158) must be included within the revised Downtown Community Revitalization Levy,

    and return to Council with a Bylaw that includes all mandatory projects as per the Government of Alberta, and if no response is received from the Government of Alberta by July 31, 2025, that Administration return to Council with Bylaw 21158 as presented at the June 26, 2025, Special City Council Public Hearing.

      1. The potential to add a question on a ballot for the municipal election related to the public’s support for Event Park as outlined in Bylaw 21158 (Schedule A).
      2. Wording options for the question on the ballot.
      3. Outline implications to the MOU between City of Edmonton, Government of Alberta, Oilers Entertainment Group.
      4. Outline costs and other impacts to the municipal election.
      5. Any other considerations.
