Call to Order and Related Business

Call to Order and Land Acknowledgement

Councillor A. Knack called the meeting to order at 9:31 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and acknowledged that Council Services Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Metis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Councillor A. Knack conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of Council Services Committee. 

Mayor A. Sohi was absent without notice.

Councillor A. Stevenson was absent with notice.

C. Martin, S. Parsons and M. de Guzman, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

2023 Common Travel Plan

  That Attachment 1 of the January 24, 2023, Office of the City Clerk report  OCC01634, be amended by adding a $3,000 budget for Councillors to attend the 2023 Federation of Canadian Municipalities Sustainable Communities Conference from February 7 – 10, 2023 in Ottawa and an additional $1,700 be approved to allow for virtual attendance of Councillor Paquette and Councillor Salvador ($850 each).
