Call to Order and Related Business

Call to Order and Land Acknowledgement

Councillor A. Knack called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, and acknowledged that Council Services Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and Métis Homelands. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Roll Call

Councillor A. Knack conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of Council Services Committee.

Councillors K. Principe, A. Salvador and A. Stevenson were absent with notice for a portion of the meeting.

Councillor A. Paquette was absent with notice.

Councillor M. Janz was absent without notice.

A. Giesbrecht, City Clerk; and C. Martin, B. Tyson and R. Zheng, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

This item was not selected for debate and was dealt with as part of item 2.2. The following motion carried:

1. That Administration prepare draft amendments to Bylaw 18483 - Council Code of Conduct that incorporate the consolidated feedback as outlined in Attachment 1 of the September 15, 2023, Office of the City Clerk report OCC01805rev.
2. That Attachment 1 of the September 15, 2023, Office of the City Clerk report OCC01805rev remain private subject to sections 23 (local public body confidences) and 24 (advice from officials) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
