Councillor J. Rice called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2023, and acknowledged that City Manager and City Auditor Performance Evaluation Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Metis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Councillor J. Rice conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of the City Manager and City Auditor Performance Evaluation Committee.

Councillors K. Principe and J. Wright; A. Giesbrecht, City Clerk, and R. Zheng, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

Councillor Rice, on behalf of the City Manager and City Auditor Performance Evaluation Committee, recognized the tragedy of the two fallen Edmonton Police Service officers, Constable Travis Jordan and Constable Brett Ryan, who lost their lives in the line of duty and provided condolences to the families.
