Call to Order and Land Acknowledgement

 

Deputy Mayor A. Knack called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2023, and acknowledged that City Council meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Metis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Edmonton Transit Service achieves Pre-pandemic Ridership Levels (A. Knack)

 

Deputy Mayor A. Knack, on behalf of City Council, recognized Edmonton Transit Service for reaching an important achievement. In January and February of 2023, ETS achieved ridership recovery in conventional bus service, with boardings reaching pre-pandemic levels for the first time in three years, with more than 1.2 million boardings per week.
