Call to Order and Related Business

Call to Order

Mayor D. Iveson called the meeting to order at 3:45 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021, and acknowledged that City Council meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Metis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Roll Call

Mayor D. Iveson conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of City Council.

Councillors M. Banga, T. Cartmell, T. Caterina, B. Henderson, B. Esslinger, S. Hamilton, A. Knack, S. McKeen and A. Paquette participated electronically.

Councillors M. Nickel and M. Walters were absent with notice.

A. Laughlin, Interim City Manager; and A. Giesbrecht, City Clerk, K. Gibson and E. Norton, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

  1. That the individual named in Attachment 2 of the January 7, 2021, Office of the City Clerk report OCC00259 be appointed to the Community Safety and Well-being Task Force as a member-at-large.
  2. That Attachment 1 of the January 7, 2021, Office of the City Clerk report OCC00259 remain private pursuant to section 17 (disclosure harmful to personal privacy) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
  3. That Attachment 2 of the January 7, 2021, Office of the City Clerk report OCC00259 remain private pursuant to sections 17 (disclosure harmful to personal privacy) and 24 (advice from officials) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act until the successful candidate is notified of the appointment.
