Call to Order and Related Business

Call to Order and Land Acknowledgement 

Councillor M. Janz called the meeting to order at 1:34 p.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022, and acknowledged that Community and Public Services Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Metis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Roll Call

Councillor M. Janz conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of Community and Public Services Committee. 

Councillor T. Cartmell was absent with notice.

K. Stolarz, Deputy City Clerk, C. Martin, B. Tyson and C. McLuckie, Office of the City Clerk, were also in attendance.

  2. That the August 17, 2022, Office of the City Clerk report OCC01364, remain private pursuant to sections 17 (disclosure harmful to personal privacy) and 24 (advice from officials) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
  3. That Community and Public Services recommend to City Council:
     1. That the individuals listed in revised Attachment 1 of the August 17, 2022, Office of the City Clerk report, OCC01364, be appointed to the City of Edmonton Youth Council, for the term of September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023.
     2. That the August 17, 2022, Office of the City Clerk report OCC01364, remain private pursuant to sections 17 (disclosure harmful to personal privacy) and 24 (advice from officials) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
