Mayor A. Sohi called the meeting to order at 9:32 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023, and acknowledged that Executive Committee meets on the traditional land of Treaty 6 Territory and Métis Homelands. The Chair also acknowledged the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors' footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Nakota Sioux, as well as Métis and Inuit, and now settlers from around the world.

Mayor A. Sohi conducted roll call and confirmed the attendance of Members of Executive Committee. 

Mayor A. Sohi was absent with notice for a portion of the meeting.

Mayor A. Sohi stated that at the next regular meeting of Executive Committee, the following motion would be moved:

That Administration provide the following:

  1. A report detailing the capital fiscal gap, an assessment of the factors contributing to the shortfall including but not limited to the challenges of operating in a region, changing expectations, the evolution of responsibilities within municipal, provincial and federal jurisdictions, loss of funding sources, and future options to address the funding shortfall.
    Due Date: Second Quarter 2024, Executive Committee
  2. A report detailing the operating fiscal gap, an assessment of the factors contributing to the shortfall including the challenges of operating in a region, but not limited to changing expectations, the evolution of responsibilities within municipal, provincial and federal jurisdictions, and loss of funding sources, and future options to address the funding shortfall.
